writing

one more to do

I forgot: review Shota and the Star Quilt - this is for a guest blog, and I need to get cracking on it

random thoughts, and a to do list

I need to move this blog to wordpress so I can stop fighting with it.

Reminders for myself are going here.

At any rate, the current list of writing projects:

need to get Shades of Faith edits done and re-submitted.
need to get cracking for something on abundance
write about festivals and kids. submit to witchvox
gather thoughts for PPD presentation
pagan & special needs for support for special needs

faith & chronic illness is waiting for them to decide what to do.

art-related:
list new stuff on etsy
figure out photography
decide what to do with lakotacreations.com
make Acorn some mocs

a sort of backhanded compliment

"The words just come to you, don't they."

I never thought that sentence could be said in an insulting way.

The fact that the other person in the room got berated for his lack of writing skills just makes it all the worse.

the update of the week

I dislike driving near people who can't drive in the snow.

*****

I received my royalty payment yesterday for my essay in Manifesting Prosperity. Yay me, I am now officially a paid writer.

*****

Lots of thinking going on as I get through the work of figuring out what I know and what I don't know, spiritually and religiously speaking. It's odd, but good.

*****

In other thinking news, I'm contemplating this concept of pride. I get nervous when people say they're proud of me, and I assume they are not sincere, and that it's just a ploy to make me see things their way.

A big part of this is that no one ever said they were proud of me as a kid.

general thoughts

I've been reading various Pagan books lately from my stash of bought-but-not-read books.

I've realized that most of the authors I'm reading aren't stellar writers - most don't even have much that's really novel to say. They just had the wherewithall to actually write a whole book.

So, note to self: as mentioned before, just f*cking write.

*****

Apparently google thinks one of my other sites has malware. when I get home I'll have to verify my sites with google so they can tell me what they're smoking.

*****

I need to completely re-write my technical paper for voice, and my boss *still* hasn't read it all for content. And the draft is due at the end of the month.

testing, part two

testing again....the last one wasn't quite right...

Amazon.com plays hardball with POD publishers

Just a quick heads up for the writers who read me...this doesn't sound good at all.

From the post:

He stated several times that books not converted to BookSurge's system would be "taken down." Since that wasn't exactly what we'd heard, I asked about books that perhaps weren't selling well, that aren't good candidates for converting to BookSurge (books that would remain for sale through Lightning Source, but would never be converted to BookSurge due to the time/expense involved).
